⭐️ Today’s theme is #StarObject! ⭐️
Our star is the York Helmet. This 8th century object is the most finely constructed and complete Anglo-Saxon helmet in all of Europe! It was a status symbol worn by Northumbrian royalty!

We could give you priceless princely armours, elephantine exhibits or stunning swords coming out of our eyeballs, but they aren't what keeps punters coming back year after year.

No, its this pair of 500 y/o mail pants, knightly knickers, antediluvian unmentionables, if you will pic.twitter.com/FDZx75nvTg
- старейший футбольный мяч из запасов Художественной галереи и музея Стирлинга Смита в Шотландии;
- носок викинга 10 века английского музея Jorvik Viking Centre;
- ортопедический каркас Музея медицины Такрей;
- скафандр Нила Армстронга из Музея авиации и космонавтики имени Армстронга в Огайо;
We didn’t even have to think about this one! Our #StarObject is the world’s oldest football. It was kicked into the rafters of Stirling Castle in the 1540s when footballs in Scotland were known as ‘fut ballis’. It remained there until its discovery in 1981. ⚽️?#CURATORBATTLE pic.twitter.com/j9DwZFZ4QW

Last week we shared an image of our Viking sock, which is the only known historical example of nalebinding in England. Fancy trying your hand at this weaving technique? Take a look at this great book available in our shop: https://t.co/CPQNgNWh2g pic.twitter.com/GoFrOUbHjS

?MEET OUR PAL NORMAN!?

He's an orthopedic correction frame dating back to 1665 and was conserved by our other friend @Royal_Armouries in 1997!
On the topic of friendship, it's been a blast sharing sex chairs and scary fetus dolls with you all. ?#CURATORBATTLE #StarObject pic.twitter.com/XOHbb4TGtN
These objects are nice, but our #starobject can withstand “out of this world” conditions! Neil Armstrong’s A7-L Apollo 11 suit can resist extreme temperatures, the vacuum of space, and even micrometeorites. #CuratorBattle pic.twitter.com/lwtLBv1P36

Ladies and gentlemen, let us present to you the one and only JAR OF MOLES. So iconic it does its own interviews and gets its own fan mail. https://t.co/3780yPyvG0#CURATORBATTLE #StarObject pic.twitter.com/oTi9iHWRgE
