BUMP Mapping is a technique with which you can achieve 3d kind of look using 2d textures. For eg, the Cracks on the coloumns and the water are both 2d, just by using BUMP or normal mapping, it gives a feeling of 3D, at the cost of 2D. This has been replaced by Tesselation in DX11.. more awsmness....
